Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai nomads of Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool and deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variat wool used in this product is exceptionally durable, having evolved to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of natural lanolin, making it soft and pleasant to the touch for effective thermoregulation.
Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads who meticulously hand-weave each strand after dyeing the wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting excellent durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing discomfort from the heat.
And, above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created by the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original and unique item.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a piece you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Vacuum or sweep along the pile to remove dirt and dust.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth or towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilventilated shade.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can also be removed for shipping

If requested, the pompoms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via the email or phone number below.
