Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomadic in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Variat wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and has a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by hand, one thread at a time, by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from regions with extreme temperature differences between day and night, also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original, one-of-a-kind item.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but also hung on walls as art.
Why not find a special Gabbeh that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please be aware that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
