Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai nomads living in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps regulate body temperature. Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads with this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, demonstrating its superior durability. Gabbeh, born from the drastic temperature differences between day and night, also has the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer. And, above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique and original piece. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. Daily Care

Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar cloth. Afterward, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the wool dyes may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms on the corners or edges of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
