Features of Persian hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are hand-woven rugs created by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is soft to the touch with high oil content, allowing for effective body temperature regulation.
Gabbeh, woven by Iranian nomads with this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture. Each thread is carefully hand-woven. Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, demonstrating their superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering comfort even in hot weather.
And above all, their artistry is remarkable. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with no two being exactly alike—each is a unique, one-of-a-kind item.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove detergent residue and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing unevenness. Please consider these as part of the unique charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the wool dye may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
