Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They are hand-woven using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture contains a high oil content for effective temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh, woven by hand, strand by strand, by Iranian nomads after dyeing the wool with natural dyes, is characterized by its fluffy and comfortable feel.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, indicating its superior durability.
Born from a climate with drastic temperature changes between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And above all, there is its artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, imagined and created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If you notice stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a well-wrung towel or similar. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
