Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile carpets deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomads, who weave them by hand in the Zagros Mountains of Iran using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as its soft and pleasant texture due to the high oil content that helps with temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each strand, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, demonstrating their exceptional durability.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a sensation of coolness.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imagined and created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile direction.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool, which may result in a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
