Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing it to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, which contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature. Gabbeh woven by Iranian nomads, meticulously hand-knotting each strand of this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel. Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability. Gabbeh, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing them from feeling hot. And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being an original, one-of-a-kind piece. They can be laid on the floor, of course, but also displayed as art on walls. Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile. If stains are a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a wet cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products. Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used on the wool. The smell will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

If requested, the pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery. Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
