Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing it to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, which contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile. If stains are a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a wet cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used on the wool. The smell will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
