Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains. They are handwoven using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing it to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant feel, rich in natural oils for effective thermoregulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, handwoven piece by piece by Iranian nomads using this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are also characterized by being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And above all, there's their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imagined and created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique original.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but also hung on a wall as art.
Gabbeh rugs are made to be cherished for a long time; why not find your own special Gabbeh rug?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom, sweeping along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar cloth. Afterward, meticulously wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being handwoven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of handweaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool, which may result in a distinctive odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

If requested, the pompoms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
