Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using plant-dyed wool with long piles. They are deeply rooted in their way of life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture due to its high oil content, which helps regulate body temperature.
These Gabbeh rugs, made from wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, thread by thread, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with drastic temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, making them feel cool.
And, above all, their artistic quality is remarkable. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can enjoy for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can also be removed before shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
