Features of Persian Hand-knotted Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-knotted rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, nomadic people in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool as part of their daily life. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant feel, containing a lot of natural oils for effective body temperature regulation. Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture. Strongly woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years. Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool feel. And above all, there is their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created by the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, original work. They are suitable not only for covering floors but also for adorning walls as art. How about finding your own special Gabbeh, a piece you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with water to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-knotted, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please appreciate these as part of the charm of a handmade item. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dye may be present. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed upon shipment

The pom-poms located at the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment. Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
