Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They are deeply rooted in daily life, featuring long piles made from vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content, allowing for effective temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, crafted by Iranian nomads meticulously hand-weaving each thread of natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there's their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, original item.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also artistic enough to be displayed on walls.
Why not discover your own special Gabbeh, a rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dust and dirt by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar cloth. Afterward, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dyes may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

If you prefer, the pompoms located at the corners or middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via the email or phone number below.
