Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture is rich in natural oils, allowing for effective temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads with naturally dyed wool, yarn by yarn, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, showcasing their exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with significant temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are also known for being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing heat retention.
And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can enjoy for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
