Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically weave them from plant-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and features a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads using this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing you from feeling hot.
And, above all, their artistic quality is remarkable. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, original piece with no two alike.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
How about finding your own special Gabbeh rug that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinct odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

If you request it, we can ship Gabbeh rugs with the pom-poms on the corners or in the middle removed.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
