Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in their daily lives, made from plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing the sheep to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil for good body temperature regulation, resulting in soft and pleasant-to-the-touch wool.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each strand, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with drastic temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, with a characteristic that prevents them from feeling hot.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but also hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
This odor will gradually disappear with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping

The pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery if you request it.
Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
