Features of Persian Hand-Knotted Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads, who hand-weave them using plant-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The wool used in this product, known as Persian Variant, possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture rich in natural oils for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh rugs, hand-dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are renowned for their exceptional durability, said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme daily temperature fluctuations, Gabbeh rugs also have the unique characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique and original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, then allow it to dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As such, a distinctive odor from the wool dyes may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Tassels can also be removed before shipping

The tassels attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the tassels will not negatively impact the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the tassels removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
