Features of Persian Hand-Knotted Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-knotted rugs made by the Qashqai nomads who herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture is rich in natural oils, allowing for effective temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-knot each thread, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are also warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool sensation.
And, above all, there's its artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but are also beautiful enough to be displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dust and dirt by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to the hand-knotted nature, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-knotted item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pompoms to be removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
