Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They are hand-woven using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture with a high fat content for effective body temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, woven individually by hand by Iranian nomads using natural dyes on this wool, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme day-night temperature differences, Gabbeh rugs are also warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can, of course, be placed on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If you are concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping

The pom-poms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery upon request.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
