Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes, and deeply rooted in their way of life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, which contains a lot of oil to help regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads with this naturally-dyed wool, strand by strand, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool feel.
And, above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung-out towel or similar. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape or pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As a result, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.

Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
