Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. If stains are a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dye unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven rug. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
