Features of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, handwoven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and soft, pleasant-feeling fibers containing a high amount of oil to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads one by one with this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with significant temperature differences between day and night, are also characterized by being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And, above all, is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being handwoven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of handwoven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dyes used to color the wool.
Please be aware that this scent will gradually dissipate with use.
Pom-poms can be removed upon request

The pom-poms located at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed and shipped without them, if requested.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
