Daily care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. If stains are a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a wet cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool, so there may be a unique odor from the dye used on the wool. This odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
