Characteristics of the Region (Sirjan)

Sirjan is a city located in southern Iran, belonging to Kerman Province. Kilims woven in Sirjan are also known as "Suzani" or "Siriki-pichi," and the region has been registered as a kilim-producing area by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).
Sirjan kilims are characterized by their extremely fine and firm weave. Because nomadic women weave them from imagination without a design, their delicacy and intricacy are astonishing. They are Soumak woven, have very little pile, and often feature animal and geometric patterns.
Furthermore, Sirjan kilims often have deep color tones, with red dye extracted from cherries, blue from eggplant skin, yellow from saffron, green from walnut leaves, and brown from walnut husks or tobacco. Due to these characteristics, Sirjan kilims are highly regarded worldwide and cherished as beautiful handicrafts.

What is a kilim?

Persian hand-woven kilims are globally popular traditional hand-woven textiles that become richer in character with age. Depending on the era they were woven, they are called vintage kilims, old kilims, or antique kilims, and are loved by people of all ages. While most kilims are made of wool, some are also produced using cotton or silk. Natural materials are used. Since natural dyes are also used for coloring, you can use them with peace of mind. These hand-woven kilims are durably woven and are based on the design styles of tribes and ethnic groups known as tribal rugs. They are characterized by geometric patterns inspired by nature and animals, and each kilim has a unique design.
Various ethnic groups live in the vast land of Iran. The designs and colors vary by region, allowing you to enjoy a diverse range of patterns.

Other uses for kilims

Kilims are widely used not only as simple rugs or floor coverings, but also as wall hangings or as decorative items for other interior elements such as sofas, tables, and beds. Their unique designs and colors are distinctive, and they are often utilized as accents in a room. Kilims are not merely decorative items; they are important elements that enrich the overall atmosphere of a room and highlight its individuality. They add a unique charm and warmth to a living space. By incorporating kilims, you can create a life surrounded by art and comfort, and enjoy living with the things you love.

Kilims and Interiors

Kilims are incredibly versatile and can be incorporated into various interior styles. In modern interiors, introducing the unique patterns and colors of a kilim into a simple space adds an accent. For natural or Scandinavian interiors, combining them with wooden furniture, plants, or natural materials can enhance the warmth and natural feel of the kilim. They also blend well with bohemian atmospheres; laying them on the floor or hanging them on the wall can elevate the overall ambiance of a room. Kilims have ethnic designs and tribal aesthetics, making them compatible with interiors that incorporate cultural elements from Iran, Turkey, Morocco, and other regions. Arranging them as tapestries or cushions can add warmth and depth to the entire room.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom. If you notice dirt, dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape, weaving irregularities, or dyeing unevenness. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.

The first one was a doormat, which I bought online. It was a really good product, so this time I came to the store looking for a Gabbeh large enough to place in front of my sofa. I received very polite service and found a favorite piece, which I immediately decided on. It really suits the atmosphere of my home, and I'm glad I bought it. Thank you very much.

I bought a Persian rug from an online shop for the first time.
I was a bit anxious about buying a Persian rug online because its appearance can change so much depending on the light, but the polite and thorough answers I received when I called to ask questions put me at ease and I went ahead with the purchase.
Although the actual rug was a little darker than expected, I'm delighted to have found such a wonderful item that met my expectations.
They also handled my request for a tapestry finish quickly and with great care, making for a very pleasant shopping experience.
The finish was also meticulously done and beautiful.
I would definitely like to use their services again.

This was my first purchase. I had been looking for a Gabbeh for my living room and had seen many in person, but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. Then I found one on your website and it was love at first sight, so I bought it immediately. I was a little worried about buying something based solely on an image, but the actual product was just as wonderful as I imagined. The packaging was also very careful, and it even came with a letter! Thank you so much for the beautiful Persian tapestry as well. I've hung it in my entryway. I look forward to shopping with you again if the opportunity arises.
