Characteristics of the Region (Senneh)

Senneh, located in northwestern Iran, is the name of a city where Kurdish people live. Senneh kilims are highly regarded among Kurdish kilims and are said to excel in weaving techniques and craftsmanship. This technique is believed to be influenced by rug weaving. Senneh kilims are characterized by small floral patterns and a central medallion. Senneh is also currently known as Sanandaj, and a rich variety of flat-weave kilims are produced there. The patterns are beautifully unique, as if a flower garden is reflected in a pond, possessing a distinct charm.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom. If it gets dirty, dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shade.
