Sirjan is a city located in southern Iran, part of Kerman Province. Kilims woven in Sirjan are called "Suzani" or "Silky Pichie," and the region is registered as a Kilim production area by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).
Sirjan Kilims are characterized by their extremely fine and firm weave. Because nomadic women weave them from imagination without a pattern, their delicate and intricate nature is astonishing.
