Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads living in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. These are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its high oil content makes it soft and pleasant to the touch, perfectly regulating body temperature.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads, thread by thread, using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are renowned for their exceptional durability, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme daily temperature differences, Gabbeh rugs also have the unique characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, above all, there is their artistry. The Gabbeh rugs created from the nomads' imaginations often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique and original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used for the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed for shipping

If requested, the pom-poms located at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
