Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, handwoven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool as a part of their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture is due to the high oil content that helps with temperature regulation.
Gabbehs, handwoven by Iranian nomads one thread at a time after dyeing the wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbehs are so durable that they are said to last 100 years.
Gabbehs, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing them from feeling hot.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbehs created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, and each one is a unique, original piece with no two alike.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but are also artistic enough to be displayed on a wall.
Why not find a special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being handwoven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of handwoven products.
Additionally, Gabbehs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms on the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
