Gabbeh rugs made by HAJI feature distinctive designs and are special Gabbehs woven only in a specific small village in Shiraz.
Furthermore, this particular Gabbeh is woven with fine threads, and although it takes more effort to weave, it is a "Liezbaft Gabbeh," which has less thickness and a tighter weave than regular Gabbehs.
"Liez" means "fine" in Persian, and "baft" means "weave."

Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who inhabit the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are hand-woven using naturally dyed wool. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in oils for effective body temperature regulation.
The wool is dyed with natural dyes, and each Gabbeh rug is carefully hand-woven, thread by thread, by Iranian nomads, resulting in a plush and comfortable feel. Gabbeh rugs, when tightly woven, are said to last for 100 years, showcasing their exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing discomfort from heat.
And, of course, there's their artistic appeal. Gabbeh rugs, imagined and created by nomads, often feature animal and plant designs, with each one being a unique, original item. They are not only suitable for placing on the floor but can also be displayed on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As a result, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
