Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-knotted rugs woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool as an integral part of their daily lives. Well-woven Gabbehs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a well-wrung towel. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to the hand-knotted nature, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-knotted items. Additionally, Gabbehs are woven from sheep's wool. As a result, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used to color the wool. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
