Features of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are handwoven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in daily life, featuring long piles and using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously handwoven strand by strand by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and breathable in summer, making them feel cool.
And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being handwoven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of a handwoven product.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used for the wool.
This smell will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Tassels can be removed before shipping

If requested, the tassels located at the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the tassels will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the tassels removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
