Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool as part of their daily lives. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product has excellent durability, developed to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high fat content to regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, made by dyeing this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weaving each strand by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are also warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing you from feeling hot.
And above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being an original, one-of-a-kind piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the nap.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used to color the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping

The pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like your order shipped without the pom-poms, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
