Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool, and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture containing a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven thread by thread by Iranian nomads after dyeing the wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but also displayed on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Please Note
As these are hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dye used on the wool.
The odor will gradually fade with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Tassels can also be removed before shipping

The tassels on the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the tassels will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the tassels removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us by email or phone below.
