Characteristics of the Region (Khorasan)

Kilims made by the people living in Khorasan Province, northeastern Iran, are widely known for their unique tribal rug characteristics. Although simple, animal and geometric patterns stand out. The colors are characterized by muted brown tones, with dusty colors skillfully used.

What is Kilim?

Persian hand-woven kilims are traditional hand-woven textiles that are popular worldwide and become more appealing with age. They are called vintage kilims, old kilims, and antique kilims depending on the era they were woven, and are loved by people of all ages. Most kilims are made of wool, but some kilims are also produced using cotton or silk. Natural materials are used. Since natural dyes are also used for dyeing, you can use them with peace of mind. These hand-woven kilims are strongly woven and are based on the design styles of tribes and ethnic groups known as tribal rugs. They feature geometric patterns with motifs of nature and animals, and each kilim has its own unique design.
Various ethnic groups live in the vast land of Iran. The design and color characteristics differ depending on the production area, and you can enjoy a diverse range of design patterns.

Other uses for Kilims

Kilims are widely used not only simply as rugs or floor coverings, but also as wall hangings, and as other interior items for sofas, tables, and beds. Their unique designs and colors are distinctive, and they are often used as an accent in a room. Kilims are not merely decorative items, but are positioned as important elements that enrich the overall atmosphere of a room and highlight its individuality. They add a unique charm and warmth to the room's space. By utilizing kilims, you can realize a life with art and a comfortable life, and enjoy a life surrounded by your favorite things.

Kilims and Interior Design

Kilims are very flexible in their use and can be incorporated into various interior styles. In modern interiors, incorporating the unique patterns and colors of a kilim into a simple space adds an accent to the space. For natural and Scandinavian interiors, placing wooden furniture and plants, or combining them with interiors made of natural materials, can enhance the warmth and natural atmosphere of the kilim. They also blend well with a bohemian atmosphere, enhancing the overall feel of the room when placed on the floor or hung on the wall. Kilims have an ethnic design and tribal feel, and are compatible with interiors that incorporate cultural elements from Iran, Turkey, Morocco, and other regions. By placing them as tapestries or cushions, they can add warmth and depth to the entire room.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom. If you are concerned about dirt, dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shade.

Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.

The first one was a doormat, which I bought online. It was a really good product, so this time I came to the store looking for a Gabbeh large enough to place in front of my sofa. I received very polite service and found a favorite piece, which I immediately decided on. It really suits the atmosphere of my home, and I'm glad I bought it. Thank you very much.

I bought a Persian rug from an online shop for the first time.
I was a bit anxious about buying a Persian rug online because its appearance can change so much depending on the light, but the polite and thorough answers I received when I called to ask questions put me at ease and I went ahead with the purchase.
Although the actual rug was a little darker than expected, I'm delighted to have found such a wonderful item that met my expectations.
They also handled my request for a tapestry finish quickly and with great care, making for a very pleasant shopping experience.
The finish was also meticulously done and beautiful.
I would definitely like to use their services again.

This was my first purchase. I had been looking for a Gabbeh for my living room and had seen many in person, but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. Then I found one on your website and it was love at first sight, so I bought it immediately. I was a little worried about buying something based solely on an image, but the actual product was just as wonderful as I imagined. The packaging was also very careful, and it even came with a letter! Thank you so much for the beautiful Persian tapestry as well. I've hung it in my entryway. I look forward to shopping with you again if the opportunity arises.
