Characteristics of the Origin (Shiraz)
Shiraz is a city in southwestern Iran, famous for its tribal rugs. Local ethnic groups hand-weave rugs using traditional methods, and these finished works are then sold in nearby bazaars. The pile of these rugs is mainly wool, which provides warmth and durability throughout the rug. The center of the rug is characterized by designs commonly seen in tribal rugs, such as medallions and geometric patterns. Generally, red and brown fields incorporate a variety of colors such as beige, yellow, blue, and green, giving the entire rug a rich palette. Thus, Shiraz rugs are known for their warm designs and color schemes.
What is a Persian Rug?
A Persian rug is a rug woven in Iran. It has a long history and is famous for its beauty and durability, lasting for generations. It is one of the most excellent artistic handicrafts representing Iranian culture and art. There is a wide variety of rugs in Iran, as the design and materials used differ by region of origin. They range from delicate and intricate designs woven in workshops to simple, geometric tribal rugs woven by Iranian ethnic groups. The main materials used are wool and silk. The beautiful designs and delicate color schemes of Persian rugs possess a unique charm. By incorporating a Persian rug with its unique, one-of-a-kind charm into your room, you can further enhance its atmosphere.
Daily Care (Wool)
Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If you spill a liquid, immediately absorb the moisture with an absorbent material (such as a paper towel or tissue), then wipe with a damp cloth.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight irregularities in shape, weaving, and dyeing. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
