Gabbeh rugs are long-pile carpets woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool as part of their daily life. The Persian Varied wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is rich in natural oils, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, as it helps with temperature regulation.
The wool is dyed with natural dyes, and Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
If you notice stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pompoms can be removed upon shipment

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
