Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability. Gabbeh, born from the dramatic temperature differences between day and night, also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing heat. Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap. If dirt is a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used for the wool may be present. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
