Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

As these are hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven products. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the wool dyes may be present. While the smell will gradually dissipate with use, we ask for your understanding in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

If requested, the pom-poms located at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery. Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
