Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads living in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing it to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant feel due to its high oil content, which helps in body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, one strand at a time, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool sensation.
And above all, their artistry is remarkable. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If it gets dirty: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry it in a well-ventilated shade.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
The odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
