Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomadic tribe, who hand-weave them in the Zagros Mountains of Iran using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content to regulate body temperature effectively. Gabbeh rugs, made by nomadic Iranians who meticulously hand-weave each one with wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel. A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting superior durability. Originating from a climate with significant day and night temperature differences, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing a feeling of heat. And, above all, there is its artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with no two being alike, making each one a unique original. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap. For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used for the wool may be present. The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
