Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using plant-dyed wool as an integral part of their daily lives. The wool used in this product, known as Persian Variant, is highly durable, a necessity for surviving in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil for excellent temperature regulation, making it soft and pleasant to the touch.
The Gabbeh rugs are made by Iranian nomads who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each strand, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool feel.
And, of course, their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created by nomads from imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find a special Gabbeh that will be with you for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, uneven weaving, and uneven dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

If requested, the pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
