Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs dyed with natural plant dyes, created by the Qashqai nomads who live in Iran's Zagros Mountains, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil for good body temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads who hand-weave this wool, dyed with natural dyes, thread by thread, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last 100 years, demonstrating their exceptional durability.
Born from the drastic temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, creating a cool sensation.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, original creation.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but also hung on walls as art.
Why not find a special Gabbeh just for you, one that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used for the wool.
This smell will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
