Features of Hand-Woven Persian Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile carpets woven by hand by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft and pleasant texture due to its high oil content, which helps with temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their soft and fluffy texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, also has the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilventilated shade.
Important Notes
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, uneven weaving, and uneven dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
While the odor will gradually disappear with use, please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.
The pom-poms located at the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
