Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and contains a large amount of oil to effectively regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads, strand by strand, using wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And above all, there's their artistry. Gabbeh, created from the nomads' imagination, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but are also beautiful enough to be hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
As these are hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping

Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
