Features of Hand-Woven Persian Gabbeh
Gabbeh are hand-woven rugs by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are made from naturally dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and it contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously weave each strand by hand, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and not feeling hot in summer.
And, above all, there is its artistic quality. Gabbeh created by nomads from their imagination often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is an original, one-of-a-kind item.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but also hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile direction.
For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
