Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains. They are hand-woven using naturally dyed wool. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant feel, containing abundant oils to regulate body temperature.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If stains are a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a well-wrung towel. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dyes used on the wool.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

If requested, we can ship the Gabbeh with the pompoms on the corners or in the middle removed.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
