Features of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile carpets woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is rich in lanolin, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, skillfully regulating body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, hand-dyed with natural dyes and meticulously handwoven thread by thread by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with significant temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, offering a cool sensation.
And above all, their artistic quality is outstanding. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively crafted by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find a special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterward, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being handwoven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortions, weaving irregularities, and dyeing unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of handweaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
