Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh is a hand-woven rug made by the Qashqai nomads of Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, which contains a high amount of natural oils for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh, woven meticulously by hand by Iranian nomads using this wool dyed with natural dyes, is characterized by its fluffy and pleasant feel.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh is warm in winter and airy in summer, with the characteristic of not feeling hot.
And above all, its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often features designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
It can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh is woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Tassels can be removed before shipping

The tassels attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the tassels does not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the tassels removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
