Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high fat content, giving it a soft and pleasant feel for effective body temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme daily temperature differences, Gabbeh are warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing heat buildup.
And above all, their artistry. Gabbeh, created from the nomads' imaginations, often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern distortion, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

The pom-poms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
