Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs made by the Qashqai nomads who migrate through the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are hand-woven using wool dyed with natural plant dyes and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by hand by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, using naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, demonstrating their exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing them from feeling hot.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. The Gabbeh created from the nomads' imaginations often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Tassels can be removed before shipping

The tassels attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the tassels will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
