Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are dyed with natural dyes using wool, and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content to regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs created imaginatively by nomads often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, original piece with no two alike.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
How about finding your own special Gabbeh rug that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool.
Please note that the odor will gradually dissipate with use.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
