Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who hand-weave them in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content that helps regulate body temperature.
These wools are dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven, thread by thread, by Iranian nomads. Gabbeh rugs are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs are tightly woven and known for their exceptional durability, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, above all, there is their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or cloth. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to their handmade nature, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As a result, there may be a distinct odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
This odor will gradually fade with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can also be removed before shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
